Prix de Croix är ett Grupp 2-lopp för femåringar, exklusive valacker, som har tjänat minst 32 000 euro.
Loppet körs över 2 850 meter med voltstart och startar preliminärt klockan 17:00. Den totala prissumman är 120 000 euro, varav 54 000 euro till vinnaren. Tidigare vinnare är bland andra Koctel du Dain, Jushua Tree, Idao de Tillard, Hohneck och Belina Josselyn. Svenska vinnare genom åren är Power (2021) och In Vain Sund (2017).
Årets upplaga lovar återigen att bli ett mycket spännande lopp, där flera av de bästa internationella femåringarna samlas.
Liza Josselyn
Vinnare av Critérium Continental den 21 december. Hon noterade 1.10,0 över 2 100 meter för andra gången som fyraåring och befäste därmed sin position i kulltoppen. Distansen 2 850 meter är inget problem för stoet och hon kommer åter att tillhöra favoriterna.
Hon får dock klara sig utan sin ordinarie kusk Jean-Michel Bazire, som var inblandad i en träningsincident förra veckan. I stället kör Nicolas Bazire, vilket är det enda lilla frågetecknet.
Lovino Bello
Deltog i Critérium Continental. Tränaren Thierry Duvaldestin förklarade insatsen:
– Han sprang i princip inte alls i det stora loppet. Spår 9 bakom bilen var ett avgörande handikapp. Så är det tyvärr. Han har visat fin form i träningen efter Critérium Continental. Jag rycker alla skor. Vi kör för seger.
Hästen är fortsatt en av kullens ledare och blir åter farlig här. Han kommer att försöka utnyttja sin vassa avslutning, som nästan alltid avgör hans placering på pallen. En favorit.
Lombok Jiel
Hade även han otur med spåret i Critérium Continental, där han fick spår 1 bakom bilen. Blev instängd men avslutade ändå starkt till en fjärdeplats. Trivs utmärkt över distansen och om han får smyga med i fältet är han en häst att se upp med. Stabilt bland de bättre i mål, och i ett mindre fält som i dag jagar han en pallplats.
Phantom Express
Fick ett tufft lopp i Critérium Continental och tvingades gå i dödens hela vägen. Höll starkt men kunde inte svara de bättre placerade spurtarna. Imponerade i sin första start på Vincennes den 6 december över 2 700 meter och återkommer nu med samma ambitioner. Ett mindre fält är till hans fördel. Björn Goop kör. Intressant för spelarna.
Learn to Fly
Gör alltid sitt bästa. En ärlig och jämn häst, men stöter ofta på kullens allra bästa, vilket begränsar antalet pallplatser. Gör sällan något fel och klarar olika löpningsförlopp. Försöker åter vara med bland de främsta.
Far Wise As
Slutade femma i Critérium Continental efter ett smyglopp och en bra avslutning. Ett mindre fält bör gynna honom om han får loppet serverat invändigt. Ställs ändå mot hårt motstånd med flera av kullens toppar på plats. Med rätt resa är han åter intressant för de fyra främsta.
Bullet The Bluesky
Galopperade bakom startbilen i Critérium Continental, vilket också var hans första start på fransk mark. Har haft en lång och tuff säsong i Sverige och får åter en krävande uppgift. Startar barfota som senast. Gör nu debut med voltstart och längre distans på Vincennes. En outsider, då han ännu inte bevisat sin nivå mot dessa hästar i Frankrike.
Tränaren Daniel Wäjersten ger en uppdatering:
– Han var lite för spänd bakom startbilen i sin Vincennes-debut och slog över i galopp. Det har hänt en gång tidigare i Sverige, i Derbyt. Han har tränat bra efteråt på Grosbois. Formen verkar god, trots att han hade ett tufft år som fyraåring i Skandinavien. Jag vill se honom tävla på Vincennes och därefter avgör vi om han startar i Prix Bold Eagle. Voltstart är inget problem. Jag räknar med en bättre prestation.

Liza Josselyn
The winner of the Critérium Continental on December 21. She ran 1’10’’0 over 2100m for the second time as a four-year-old, cementing herself among the leaders of the generation. The 2,850m distance isn’t a problem for the mare and she will again be among the favorites here.
She will miss her usual partner, Jean-Michel Bazire, who was involved in a training incident last week. Nicolas Bazire will drive her instead, which might be the only note here.
Lovino Bello
Participated in the Critérium Continental. Trainer Thierry Duvaldestin explained his performance: “He practically didn't run in that big race. The number 9 post position behind the starting gate was a fatal flaw. That's how it is, unfortunately. He's been showing good form in training since the Critérium Continental. I'm removing his shoes from all four feet. We're racing to win.’’
The horse remains one of the leaders of the generation and will again be dangerous here. He will look to use his closing speed, which almost always determines his position on the podium. A favorite.
Lombok Jiel
Was also unlucky with his draw in the Critérium Continental, with post number 1 behind the gate. Got locked in but still finished well to take fourth. Excels over the distance and if he’s able to race from within the field, he’s one to look out for. Consistently among the better finishers, in a smaller field like today he’s looking for a podium spot.
Phantom Express
Raced hard in the Critérium Continental, having to race from the death seat throughout. Held on well but couldn’t respond to the fast finishers with better positions. Impressed in his first race at Vincennes on December 6 over 2700m and returns here with the same intentions. A smaller field will play into his advantage. Björn Goop will drive. One for the tickets.
Learn to Fly
Always tries his best. An honest and consistent horse, but he keeps meeting the best of his generation, which results in few podium finishes. Still does little wrong and is capable under various race conditions. Will again try to be among the top finishers here.
Far Wise As
Finished fifth in the Critérium Continental after a covered race and a good finish. A smaller field should work to his advantage if he’s able to race from within the field. Still faces a tough task with several of the best of the generation present. With the right trip, he’s again interesting for the top four.
Bullet The Bluesky
Broke stride behind the gate in the Critérium Continental, which was also his first start on French soil. Has had a long and tough season in Sweden and is up against it again here. Starts barefoot like last time. Will try the standing start and longer distance at Vincennes for the first time. An outsider, as he has yet to confirm his level against these horses in France.
Trainer Daniel Wäjersten gives an update: “ He was a bit too tense behind the starting gate for his Vincennes debut and broke into a gallop. This has already happened to him once before in Sweden during the Derby. He's worked well since then at Grosbois. He seems to be in good form, even though he had a busy year as a four-year-old in Scandinavia. I'd like to see him run at Vincennes. We'll then decide whether he runs in the Prix Bold Eagle. The turn isn't a problem. I'm expecting him to bounce back. ”
