Daniel Redén bekräftar att Francesco Zet siktas mot att starta i Prix d'Amérique.
Han har även något att hälsa till sina kritiker;
"Till er som sitter i högra hörnan av ringen (negativa). Vi startar kanske fortsatt i Prix d'Amérique. Vad gör det er om han är där? Han har redan sin plats klar. Vad gör det om han slutar sist. Det är fortfarande en attraktion, tycker jag".
"Karaktären borde hyllas - inte utnyttjas"
Jag tror jag räknas bland de som varit kritiska.
Jag tycker inte travlopp ska handla om "att vara en attraktion". Det ska handla om hästen och om att de kan tävla för ett resultat som faktiskt säger något om deras förmågor. Vi har inga tävlingar utan hästarna, och i varje situation bör deras hälsa (fysiskt och psykiskt) komma först.
Francesco Zet har visat sig vara en otrolig hingst, med en egen vilja. Jag avgudar honom för det. Det gör honom till en unik travare.
För mig borde den karaktären hyllas - inte utnyttjas.
Prix d'Amérique kommer bli betydligt mer påfrestande för hästen än något annat lopp hitintills i hans karriär. Vi har sett vad det kan göra med lika kapabla hästar (San Moteur).
"Är det värt risken?"
Samtidigt har han aldrig gjort den typen av voltstart och är inte van vid kaoset i franska travlopp.
Vi har sett vad sånt kan göra med honom. Är det värt risken att förstöra en legendar till häst?
Jag respekterar Redén som tränare, men jag kommer aldrig hålla med om något i stil med att "använda hästen som en attraktion", eller som ett slags nöje för stallet.
Låt mig klargöra: Jag förstår helt att om man får chansen så är det en dröm som går i uppfyllelse för många att starta i Prix d'Amérique.
Jag har också precis sett inlägg där en tränare har dragit sig ur P d'A eftersom hans häst inte är tillräckligt frisk. Många har gjort detsamma. Till och med storfavoriter.
Jag förstår också att många av er inte håller med, och även om jag respekterar det till fullo, så skulle jag aldrig kunna låta bli att inte dela min åsikt.
Hur som; Jag hoppas hästen bevisar att jag har fel.

Daniel Redén confirms Francesco Zet is aiming for a start in the Prix d’Amérique
He has something to say about the critics, as well;
‘’To those of you sitting in the right corner of the ring. We might still go to the Prix d'Amérique. What does it matter to you if he's there? He's already got his place. What does it matter if he's last to finish, that's an attraction, I think.’’
"Charachter should be celebrated - not used"
As I think I count as one of the critics;
I don’t think racing should be about “being an attraction.” It should be about the horse, and about them being able to compete for a result that actually says something about their capabilities.
We don’t have races without the horses, and in every situation their health (mental and physical) should come first.
Francesco Zet has proven to be a true stallion, with a mind of his own. I adore him for that; it makes him a unique trotter. But to me, that character should be celebrated, not used.
The Prix d’Amérique is going to be far more stressful on the horse than any race so far in his career. We’ve seen what it can do to horses just as capable, like San Moteur.
"Is it worth the risk?"
Besides, he’s never done a turning start and isn’t used to the chaos of French racing.
And we’ve seen what it can do to him. Is it worth the risk of ruining an absolute legend of a horse?
I respect Redén as a trainer, but I will never agree with something like “using a horse as an attraction” or as some kind of fun for the barn.
Let me clarify: I fully get that if you get the chance, starting in the Prix d’Amérique is a dream come true for many (if not all of us).
But I’ve just seen a post where a trainer has withdrawn from the PdA because his horse simply isn’t healthy enough. Many have done the same, even the biggest favorites.
I also get that a lot of you will disagree, and while I fully respect that, I could not, not share this.
Anyways (and any day); I hope the horse proves me wrong.
