Loppet är öppet för 4–6-åringar, där 4-åringarna startar över 2175 meter och de äldre hästarna med 25 meters tillägg. Sedan 2023 heter loppet ”Prix de Sélection - Prix Face Time Bourbon”, uppkallat efter den mest framgångsrika hästen i loppets historia; han vann det tre år i rad 2020–2022. En särskild bedrift, då han 2021 och 2022 segrade trots tillägg. Den totala prissumman uppgår till 240 000 €, varav 108 000 € till vinnaren.
2175 meter
Marvina Bella – Corentin Delbecq
Gör debut på högsta nivån, vilket ser ut att bli en övermäktig uppgift. I ett tätt och starkt startfält lär hon starta som outsider.
Midway Lady – Benjamin Rochard
Visar utmärkt jämnhet och höjde sig ytterligare i Prix Ephrem Houel den 7 februari, där hon för första gången tävlade med ändrad balans: skor fram, barfota bak. Det föll väl ut med en stark avslutning där hon utmanade favoriterna i täten. Med form och stabilitet hör hon till utmanarna i fältet.
Magic Man – Eric Raffin
Inledde karriären mycket starkt med en rad pallplaceringar. Fick det tuffare mot slutet av 2025 och har ännu inte hittat tillbaka. Kapaciteten är tydlig, men han verkar osäker. Behöver återfå självförtroendet innan han på allvar kan räknas igen. Felfri kan han slåss om en mindre placering.
Maestro Vrie – Mathieu Mottier
Överraskande vinnare av Prix Ourasi den 24 januari. Visade en vass speed mot kulltoppen. Tävlande då med skor fram och barfota bak för första gången – samma balans igen här, vilket bekräftar att han är att räkna med. Hotet kommer bakifrån.
Maître Jacques – Alexandre Abrivard
Har alltid tillhört de bästa i sin generation. Från juni 2025 och framåt hade han det tuffare, men lyckades ändå ta pallplaceringar under året. Studsade tillbaka till toppform i Prix Ephrem Houel med en stark avslutning, även då för första gången med skor fram och barfota bak – en balans som passade honom. En av favoriterna att utmana ledarna via en stark slutrunda.
Kusken säger:
"Med skor fram och barfota bak för första gången var han strålande i comebacken. Han har fått tid att återhämta sig ordentligt, vilket är viktigt inför Prix de Sélection – ett av de tuffaste loppen. Hans fräschör kan bli avgörande, och från startvolten måste jag ta ansvar. Han behöver vara på topp för att vinna, men jag tror han klarar det."
2200 meter
Kemia du Chene – David Thomain
Enda outsidern från tilläggsvolten över 2200 meter. Hon tar ofta en placering, men har aldrig mött den absoluta kulltoppen. Har en bra avslutning, men behöver hitta ytterligare växlar för att spela en avgörande roll här. Hennes styrka över längre distanser kan vara till hennes fördel.
Tränaren är hoppfull:
"Hon möter förstås tufft motstånd, men hon är smidig och kapabel att följa alla tempon. Som alltid kommer hon att vara redo att slå till om favoriterna visar svaghet."
L’as Debois – Matthieu Abrivard
Alltid en stabil tävlingshäst med en vass speed, men visade den mot kulltoppen för första gången i Prix Ovide Moulinet, där han avgjorde med sista 500 meter på 1.06,9. Den spurten kommer väl till pass från tillägg här. Trivs bäst i högt tempo, men har ännu inte bevisat sig fullt ut över den kortare distansen.
Liza Josselyn – Nicolas Bazire
Smått besvikande femma i Prix Ovide Moulinet – hennes enda placering utanför de fyra främsta i karriären (bortsett från två diskvalifikationer). Har haft en lång säsong, vilket kan spela in. Återvänder nu till favoritdistansen och har matchats mot detta lopp, vilket innebär barfota runt om för att vara på topp. Har noterat 1.10,0 över 2100 meter två gånger, båda gångerna från ledningen. Frågetecknet är om hon har sparat det sista till säsongens avslutning.
Tränare och kusk tror det:
"Hon har lämnat oss med lite mersmak på slutet, men hon har startat tätt. Nu har hon fått tre veckor att återhämta sig. Hon är redo att hitta tillbaka till sin bästa nivå."
Lovino Bello – Clement Duvaldestin
Återgick till sin åldersklass i Prix Ovide Moulinet och slutade trea, efter en sjundeplats i Prix d’Amérique där han inte spelade någon avgörande roll. Tillhör utan tvekan kulltoppen och hans styrka kommer att vara en faktor här. Tål att göra jobb och kan avsluta snabbt.
Som alltid en segerkandidat, men tränaren manar till viss försiktighet:
"Han är väldigt allround och allt känns bra, men detta är hans sista start under meetinget. Han börjar bli trött och har dessutom varit sjuk, så han får vila efter det här. Det är aldrig enkla lopp, men han ska kunna vara med och slåss om en placering."

The Prix de Sélection highlights the last meeting of the winter season. Historically known as the perfect end to a competitive winter. Open to 4 to 6 year olds, where the 4 year olds start from 2175m, and the older horses from a 25m handicap. Since 2023, it’s named the ‘Prix de Sélection - Prix Face Time Bourbon’ after the most successful trotter in the race; he won it three times in a row from 2020 to 2022. A special feat, as in 2021 and 2022 he won it from a handicapped distance.

Excellent consistency and stepped up her game once again in the Prix Ephrem Houel on February 7, where she raced with a different set-up for the first time: plates in front, barefoot behind. This clearly worked in her favor with a strong finish, challenging the favorites in front. Her form and consistency put her among the challengers in this field.
Magic Man - Eric Raffin
Started his career very well, finding only podium places. Started to struggle towards the end of 2025 and hasn’t found himself again. His potential is clear but he seems troubled. Needs to regain his confidence before being part of the conversation again. If he keeps his gait together, a small place might be in play.
Maestro Vrie - Mathieu Mottier
The surprise winner of the Prix Ourasi on January 24. Showed a sharp turn of foot against the best of the generation. Started on plates in front, barefoot behind for the first time in that race. Doing the same again here, confirming he’s one to watch. The threat comes from behind.
Maître Jacques - Alexandre Abrivard
Has always been one of the best horses of the generation. From June 2025 onwards he clearly struggled but still managed to finish on the podium throughout the year. Bounced back to his best in the Prix Ephrem Houel with a strong finish, also his first time on plates in
front, barefoot behind. A change that suited the horse. A favorite to challenge the leaders from behind.
His driver tells more: "Having his shoes on in front and unshod behind for the first time, he was splendid for his comeback. He's had time to recover well, which is important when tackling the Prix de Sélection, one of the toughest races. His freshness could make the difference, and being in front, I'll have to take responsibility. He'll need to be in top form to win, but I believe he's capable of it."
2200m
Kemia du Chene - David Thomain
The only outsider starting from the 2200m distance. Although often picking up a placing, she’s never raced against the best of the age classes. Has a decent finish but needs to find something extra to play a significant role here. Her strength over the longer distances can help her here.
Her trainer is hopeful: "She's obviously up against tough opposition, but she's agile and capable of keeping up with any pace. As is the rule, she'll be ready to pounce on any weakness from the favorites.’’
L’as Debois - Matthieu Abrivard
Always proves to be a solid competitor with a sharp turn of foot, but only showed it against the best of his generation for the first time in the Prix Ovide Moulinet, where he beat the main players with a last 500m in 1’06’’9. This turn of foot will help him here starting with a handicap. At his best in a fast-paced race, but hasn’t proven himself over the shorter distance.
Liza Josselyn - Nicolas Bazire
Slightly disappointed with a fifth place in the Prix Ovide Moulinet. Her only finish outside the top four in her entire career (excluding two disqualifications). Has had a long season which might be playing its part. Returns here to her favorite distance and has been prepared for this race, meaning she’ll start barefoot to be at her best. Has clocked 1’10’’0 over 2100m twice, but doing so from the lead. The only question mark here is whether she has kept something in reserve for her last race of the season.
Her trainer and driver believes so: " She left us wanting more lately, but she was competing frequently. This time, she's had three weeks to recover a bit. She's ready to get back to her good form. "
Lovino Bello - Clement Duvaldestin
Returned to his age class in the Prix Ovide Moulinet with a third place, after a seventh place
in the Prix d’Amérique where he didn’t play a significant role. Clearly belongs among the best of the generation and his strength will play a role here. Doesn’t mind racing and is able to finish fast.
As always, a contender, but we have to be cautious according to the trainer: "He's very flexible, and everything's fine, but this is his last race of the meeting. He's starting to get tired and he'd been sick, so he's going to rest after this race. These are never easy races, but he should be able to place."
